Fellow Vic poet Ashley Capes has posted a haibun of mine over at his blog. Check it out, and while you’re over there have a read of some of Ash’s work. You won’t be disappointed.
Big thanks to Ash for publishing this piece.

Today I want to share a haibun from a fellow vic poet, Robbie Coburn. Here it is below, check out Robbie’s website here – along with great piece Loneliness.

Timing the Storm

Change enters like an epiphany besieging my eyes. Thunder cracks the ashen sky open in a sudden break, thick sheets of grey hanging above my head. Cold spirals of dark rain begin to pelt against my face, the wires ringing against the roof of the shed. I turn towards the house and see my mother draw the curtains, masking the fray outside. Each rush of wind tests the weatherboard house, the storm raging longer between each gust of breath between us…
